Just like that and Lent is over, right?

Actually, Easter continues right up until Pentecost Sunday which is June 8th.  What that means is Easter is here to stay for us to praise God for sending His Son to take away the sting of death.  This Easter was extra special for me because it was the first Easter I got to spend with all of you.

On Palm Sunday we celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and had our annual Palm Sunday luncheon.  What a turnout we had.

The rest of Passion week was quiet as we anticipated Good Friday’s evening service.  This year the Good Friday service was full of surprises.  Eugene Paik helped prepare the sanctuary by putting up the black cloth on the ceiling cross and hand made the standing cross that was used to nail our sins.  We also had a testimony from Vanja Kim as well as our youth who participated in the service.

Then Jinar Bombard, Halim An and Eugenia Song transformed our sanctuary in preparation for Easter Sunday with beautiful flowers on the standing cross and an over hanging entrance flower vine. On Easter Sunday, we had the largest turnout of 112 people that came to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord.

With the flower cross beautifully transformed from being the cross we nailed our sins. I was able to burn the written sins once and for all on Easter Sunday.

On Easter Sunday I was also able to take this picture with my mother before I took her back to Toronto the next day.  She is adjusting well and with the help of my younger sister and family, she is in good hands.

Now the countdown begins.  My wife Rev. Tarah Lee is still in Virginia finishing her current appointment as an Associate Pastor at the Korean United Methodist Church of Greater Washington (McLean VA).  I will be flying out to VA in early July to move her to Michigan.  In the meanwhile, she continues to shower her mother’s love to our three adult children as Kaitlin recently celebrated her 24th birthday.
