Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
As I reflect on 2025, my heart is filled with gratitude to God for all He has done in us and through our ministry. “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy” (Psalm 126:3). From the birth and growth of our House Churches to the flourishing of our College and Singles Ministry, we have witnessed God’s abundant faithfulness. These moments remind us that when we step out in obedience, God brings the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6).
At the same time, I recognize that this year has not been easy for everyone. For some, 2025 carried deep sorrow—the loss of loved ones, seasons of grief, or the daily struggle to keep heart and mind anchored in God. Scripture reminds us that “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). Your continued pursuit of God has brought you to this moment. “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). Your faith, perseverance, and resilience have been a powerful testimony, and I am continually inspired by you.
On a personal note, my wife’s move to Michigan in July has been a tremendous blessing for me. Having her here has been a gift, though I know it was not an easy transition for her. She left behind a thriving ministry and the close, cherished relationships she shares with our adult children. Yet we trust the promise of God who says, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19). As we look ahead, our prayer is that in 2026 God will open a new chapter for Pastor Tarah—one where her gifts and calling can once again be poured out for the sake of His Kingdom (Ephesians 2:10).
Looking forward to 2026, you will see in my report that our ministry focus will center on V.I.P. — Very Important Person. Each House Church will intentionally seek to reach those who may not feel comfortable stepping into a traditional church building, yet are longing for connection, belonging, and community. We are reminded that “where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20). Our prayer is that our House Churches will grow—not just in number, but in depth—learning to truly do life together in meaningful and life-giving ways (Romans 12:13).
In preparation of the New Year, may God grant you good health, emotional strength, and a faith that can move mountains in 2026 (Matthew 17:20). “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him” (Romans 15:13). Please know how deeply thankful I am for each one of you.
With gratitude and love,
Pastor David Ryu
